Synopsis
The Skin is a film letter addressed to the director's son, intended to watch it in 20 years time, to understand
the circumstances in which he was born and lived his first five years. A narrative from the present but conceived
for the future; a chronicle in the form of a diary, composed of biographical and reflective fragments about these
times marked by a pandemic, the global rise of the far-right, and the end of capitalism. From this emerges the
question: Was it fair to bring him into a world that promises dystopia and ecological disaster? The arrival of the
child has prompted his artist parents to leave the city and settle in a small village in La Mancha, Spain, ending a
nomadic and restless life. There, they are visited by the director's father and the child's grandfather, a man who
was once a shadow (Héctor Olivera, a fundamental figure in Argentine cinema) but is now a fragile old man,
evoking a glorious past. The director is now a father but remains a son. The Skin is also a film about how
cinema and life intertwine.

Sinopsis
La piel es una carta filmada al hijo del director para que la vea dentro de 20 años y así pueda comprender en qué
circunstancias nació y vivió sus primeros 5 años de vida. Un relato desde el presente pero pensado para el futuro;
una crónica a modo de diario, hecha de fragmentos biográficos y reflexivos acerca de estos tiempos atravesados
por una pandemia, por el avance de la ultra derecha en el mundo, y por el fin del capitalismo. Allí emerge la
pregunta: ¿Ha sido justo haberle traído a este mundo que promete una distopía y un desastre ecológico?
La llegada del niño ha provocado en sus padres artistas la necesidad de dejar la ciudad y anclar en un pequeño
pueblo de La Mancha (España), dando fin a una vida sinuosa y nómade. Allí reciben la visita del padre del director
y abuelo del niño, un hombre que fue sombra (Héctor Olivera, figura fundamental del cine argentino) pero que
ahora es un anciano frágil, evocador de un pasado de gloria. El director ahora es padre pero sigue siendo hijo.
La piel es también una película sobre cómo el cine y la vida se entrecruzan.
